Deadliest Catch

I have never liked reality T.V., I find it for the most part petty and pointless, but this show is something completely different.

Tonight we watched the last episode that Phil Harris would be appearing in. He passed away in February of 2010. The addition of "After The Catch" brought a new light. This show tonight said farewell to a Captain, Phil Harris.

I started watching the show when it began and connected immediately with the Cornelia Marie. Seeing the entire fleet go through the hardships and dangers that are almost second nature to them puts my own life into some sort of perspective. I realized that this great man would have passed without the world knowing. It's only because Discovery launched the show that so many people have grown to love and follow the lives of the extraordinary men. It's the show that made it possible for millions of people to witness the passing of a father and captain. I cannot imagine losing my father so I hope that somehow Josh and Jake feel the support of all the people that watch the show. In a twist I went to 'Like' Deadliest Catch - F/V Northwestern and went to their home page and they had instead a black screen with the words "Goodnight, Phil" along with the song "Hear you me" by Jimmy Eat World. So, I thought I would share it with anyone who passes by. This is the only reality TV show that shows men at their most vulnerable and finest all at the same time. I admire the men of the Alaskan fishing fleet and sincerely thank Discovery channel for putting this show on the air.
